Filling materials

The Practice has invested in CEREC 3D computer generated ceramic restoration technology. This is state of the art computer technology, which allows our dental team to create a natural looking crown or inlay in one visit without the need for impressions or temporary fillings, click here for further information.

There are now many improved materials available that can be matched in colour to the tooth and will bond to the tooth surface. We can build up fillings layer by layer and this gives us great control over the final appearance of the restoration. Tooth coloured fillings can also be manufactured in the dental laboratory with even stronger material for especially large fillings that need extra strength.

Modern materials will wear at the same rate as the surrounding tooth substance and any wear in the material can be easily repaired with the new bonding techniques.

This means that we can restore teeth with the minimal amount of preparation and drilling and it is very rare that dental amalgam fillings are used in this practice.

A mercury-amalam filling replaced by a tooth filling can make your tooth look natural again.
