Root
Canal Treatment
The
nerve of a tooth is a delicate and sensitive structure and
can become damaged from trauma or dental decay and inflammation.
Inflammation in the nerve of a tooth is called 'pulpitis'
and this can lead to the death of the nerve in the tooth.
This usually leads to the formation of an abscess.
If
a tooth’s pulp (nerve and blood supply) becomes
infected or inflamed, root canal treatment is often the only
way to clear the infection and save the tooth. Root canal
treatment must be undertaken with great care and attention
to detail and this will give the tooth a better chance of
long-term success.
At Edgar Buildings we have the services of specialist in endodontics,
Gillian Boswell BDS MSc MRD(Endo) RCS .
The
dentists at this practice have all had extensive training
to ensure that their knowledge and skills are kept right up
to date.
