Our dental surgeons, Dr Philip Pettemerides, Dr Gerry Davies and Dr Sally Davies are highly trained and keep themselves up-to-date with the latest advances in dental techniques and materials. Our main aim is to provide high quality dentistry, using the highest quality materials and equipment and to provide the very best that we can for our patients.

Dr Philip Pettemerides BDS qualified as a dental surgeon at the Charles Clifford Dental Hospital, Sheffield University in 1976 and has practiced in Bradford on Avon, Bath and Derbyshire before returning to his home town, acquiring the Practice in 1984.

Philip’s interests are aesthetic dentistry, implantology and orthodontics. He has gained the Bristol University Diploma in Postgraduate Dental Studies in Orthodontics, Prosthetic dentistry, Restoration of Tooth Wear and Prothetics. He is currently the Honorary Clinical Assistant in the Department of Orthodontics at the Royal United Hospital in Bath and is a member of the British Orthodontic Society. He has recently completed research on Bond strength of orthodontic bracket adhesives at Bristol University and has had papers published in The Journal of Orthodontics and The European Journal of Orthodontics.

He is a founder member of the Bath and West Independent Practitioner Group and a former chairman of the Bath Clinical Society. He is a member of the British Dental association, the British Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry and the Association of Dental Implantologists.

Philip is dedicated to a holistic approach to dentistry, treating the patient as a whole, not just a set of teeth. He does not use silver mercury fillings.

Continuing professional education is of prime importance – Philip was awarded the Diploma in Implantology from the International Centre for Excellence in Dentistry at the Eastman Dental Hospital in London. He gained accreditation in the Brånemark Implant System in 1994 and has since attended advanced coursed under the tutelage of French and American Implantologists. He has attended conferences and courses in the USA and Europe, where new advances in implant treatment have been introduced.

He is one of the first implant dentists in the UK to have used the recently introduced Nobel Perfect implant system

Philip presents courses and lectures to other dentists and hygienists on dental implant therapy.

Dr. Gerry Davies BDS MSc graduated from Manchester University in 1987. After a short spell working in Crewe, Cheshire, he ran his own successful practice in Greater Manchester before deciding to broaden his horizons and study other aspects of dental surgery. This led to a Masters degree in Oral Surgery from Manchester University in 1998. The amount of medication needed during and after surgery led Gerry to seek alternative therapies and he graduated from The Royal London Homeopathic Hospital in 1999.

Gerry has a special interest in Implantology and sedation. He has attended the renowned Hilt Tatum Institute in Lille, France to further develop his surgery and implantology skills, altogether giving a treatment philosophy combining the highest conventional methods alongside complementary alternatives.

Gerry is a member of the Association of Dental Implantologists and attends many conferences at home and abroad.

Dr. Sally Davies BDS qualified in 1990 from Guy's Hospital, London.

In her ten years of practice based experience she has continued professional development, attending many courses on modern techniques and is a member of various clinical societies local to Bath.

Having joined the practice in February 2000, Sally realises the importance of patient care and in earning the respect of old and new patients alike.

She believes patient care is a two-way relationship between patient and dentist and is happy to discuss any concerns and anxieties about treatments recommended.

Her philosophy is that from the first baby tooth, prevention of dental disease is the best cure.
